Meet Malia
Malia is a Malawian born artist and the greatest exports to come out of the motherland, who moved to London with her parents in her teenage years. In her 20’s she became interested in alternative styles of music.
Malia is known for her expressive voice. Early on, she found her way to the stage and her singing style flirted with styles from the 1960s and 1970s. Her role models include Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone. In 2013 she received the Echo Jazz award as “International Singer of the Year“.
She explored her African roots on the album “Malawi Blues/Njira“, released on MPS in 2016. On “Ripples (Echoes of Dreams)” Malia shows another perspective on her former album “Echoes of Dreams”.
“The Garden of Eve” is the new and 7th album to come from Malia and Hope is a new video to come from her new release.
Malia has been signed to Sony BMG and currently under MPS/Edel. Under Malia’s belt are seven album and attached is Malia’s Discography:
